ACTIVITY TITLE: Baidoa hosts cotonou training for 30 MPs Date : 17 – 18 May 2006 Venue : Baidoa Participants : 30 MPs Facilitators : Enow Key note speaker : First vice speaker, Hon. M. Omar Dalha
Objectives The objective of this exercise was primarily to raise TFG MPs awareness on the basics of cotonou partnership agreement and create opportunities for dialogue between NSAs and TFI MPs, also to strengthen working relations between state institutions and NSAs representatives. It was also an opportunity to provide capacity building. Workshop proceedings CRD Director, Mr. Jabril I. Abdulle, in his opening remarks welcomed all the dignitaries participating the two day cotonou awareness raising workshop. He then invited to the microphone hon. Mohamed O. Dalha, Vice deputy speaker who took the floor and wished attending MPs to make good use of this training opportunity. M. H. Enow made a comprehensive presentation in Somali and highlighted all the principals of cotonou partnership agreement. By this presentation was followed a brainstorming session in which most of the MPs participating the training expressed interest and wanted to continue with the general discussion. Outcome 30 MPs awareness raised on cotonou agreement a new door of dialogue and opportunity opened between NSAs and MPs Immediate positive feedback received from the participants |
