ACTIVITY TITLE: Phase one mapping out gets underway

Regions covered : Benadir, Lower Shabelle , Middle Shabelle

Objectives

To identify the existing NSAs working organizations operating in these three regions.

Outcome

Identified 37 effective and operational NSAs entities, as shown in the following table.

Challenges

In the course of the data collection, CRD NSA team in the field was confronted with a number of constraints that hampered the mapping out process. Some of the challenges encountered were like:

• Mistrust among the concerned groups

• poor communication links

• Rivalry among NSAs organizations mostly based on self interest.

Most of these phenomenon were attributed to the effects of the prolonged civil war conflict which has had traumatic effects in the minds and hearts of the people living in this ravaged war-zone.
