SADE RECONCILIATION HELD AT GARBAHAREY DISTRICT OF GEDO REGION
This reconciliation meeting in which more than 150 delegate from the seven Districts of Gedo region have participated was held today at Garbaharey district, the regional capital of Gedo. The reconciliation was directed by the head of Centre for Research and Development (CRD) at Gedo, Lower and Upper juba, Dr Farah Abdi Hassan. The delegate participated were very happy as they all agreed to forgive and excuse each other. The meeting was opened with speech from Holy Qur'an and the importance of peace.
After this, many peace negotiators made their speeches one by one and the first to stand was peace negotiator Mr. Ibrahin Guled known as Digya'ab who mentioned that the only way to development is through peace. His speeches included of past history of Gedo region and how things happened. He stated that if the people continue to do what they used to do in the past few years, they will never reach any step of development.
The other peace negotiators included Sheik Mohamed Hassan Yarow, Hussein Burale, Ibrahim Ahmed Khalif, and Sheik Ali Norad and so may others. They all welcomed this reconciliation meeting, thanked the ones involved in managing and the directing and they all agreed that they will forgive one another, be united and live peacefully with their fellow neighbors. The women group representative, Heibo Hashi Gelle also stood and reminded the people to be united and agree one another. The slogans or the catchwords at the venue hall of the meeting included “the forgiveness of SADE clan is the key way to development”, “No peace No live”, “Dialogue is the beginning of reconciliation”.
The last to stand and conclude the meeting was the head of CRD, Dr. Farah Abdi Hassan and his speech included, “this is a very important meeting, in fact, it is a golden chance, which can not be lost, we, SADE Clan, must agree one another, reach development and put our best effort to try to share at least something with the rest of Somalia. If one among you, he said, is having any problem for any one else, please ask for forgiveness, and also try to forgive to others”. Dr. Farah was these busy in preparing reconciliation among SADE Clan in Gedo region and in last few days, he was collecting various members of the traditional leaders, religious men and other influential ones of the community from different parts of the region, but today was the first to commence, actually, the reconciliation conference of Gedo region of which some regional analysts forecast to be very conductive and fruitful for the peace and stability of the southern-west region of Gedo, which recently faces a political and clan-based conflicts.
